Biography :

Iranian filmmaker/film critic born in Ghaemshahr,Iran. He received a BA in Dramatic Literature from the University of Tehran and a MA in Cinema Studies from the University of Art (Tehran).

Jahed has been doing his PhD on the New Wave Iranian Cinema at the University of Westminster in London since 2000.He has been written on cinema since 1988 in Iran's film and cultural magazines such as: Donya-ye Sokhan, Gozaresh Film, Faslname-ye Farabi(Farabi Film Quarterly), Ketabe Maah, Monthly Film, Kalemeh, Kelk and BBC Persian Online.

He made a number of documentaries and short films along with his teaching in film at the Iran's Universities and film institutes.

Day-break (Rooz Bar Miaayad) his last short film and Ta'zieh,Another Naration his long documentary on a traditional performance and passion play in Iran have been screened in film festivals, art galleries, Universities and on Television in Iran and Canada.

He has also published some books on cinema and theatre. His forthcoming book is an in-depth interview with Ibrahim Golestan the prominent Iranian filmmaker and writer and one of the forerunners of the Iranian New Wave cinema.
