Born
and raised on a Kibbutz by American parents. After
serving three years in the Israeli Navy, worked on
a fishing village in the Red sea as a sharks hunter.
A professional filmmaker since 1982. Speaks fluent Hebrew
and English.

Completion of script writing, editing and directing
two short films: Midlife Crisis and Coffee (shot on 35
mm). Both films are edited entirely on the Avid editing
system, including a 35 mm film version and final sound
design and mix.
Midlife Crisis is accepted for screening at the prestigious
Jerusalem Film Festival, Short Film Category.
Nomination as Jury member for the Tel-Aviv Gadi Dantzig
Awards Competition, commercials category.
Editing of Istiklal - 1st prize, Jerusalem Film Festival.
1994
Directing commercials for Israel's ch.2: Philipshave,
Orlane, Arad Music Festival, Elite coffee and more.
Editing commercials: Elite Turkish coffee, 'international
Bank', Strauss 'Fantasia' ice cream.
Hocus Focus Films - a film production company targeted
to initiate fiction and documentary film projects is
born. The company is established and owned by micha Kovler.
1993 Nazdrovia a 25 min. Fiction film written and directed
by Kovler is screened commercially at the Tel-Aviv cinematheque,
and purchased by Israel's Ch. 1.
Nazdrovia is nominated for final selection by the Tokyo
international Film Festival followed by an invitation
from the Japanese government to participate in the festival.

16mm fiction film debut, shot on location, 14 days, in
Israel.
Nazdrovia, self funded, is chosen to open the Israeli
Short Films screenings at the 1992 Haifa Film Festival.

1989
Co-editing an NBC special - a children's story directed
by Mr. Mark Sotnik and narrated by Mr. Jack Nicholson
and Ms. Glen Close. Mr. Bobby McFerry scored the music.
1988
Free-lance editor in New York City.
Chosen to edit an NBC one hour thanksgiving special,
with host Mr. Jack Paar, followed by editing of an
AT&T
Super ball's commercial (estimated viewing of 120 million
people). 1985-7 Studies of computerized editing and special effects
at Editel, New York City. Senior editor, Palace Productions
Center, NYC.
1984 Lecturing at Berki Pata Humphries Studios - an affiliate
of Tel-Aviv university, film and video editing department.
1982-3 Beginning of film career, first as an assistant cameraman
and later as a senior editor for Israel's most successful
production company - Migvan Productions ltd., editing
documentaries, dramas, commercials and music videos.
