Name: Murivat Beknazarov
Nationality: Tajik
Location: Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Profession: Painter

Education:
MA from Visual Arts Institute - Estonia 1970

Biography:

Honored figure of art of Tajikistan. Born in 1943 in Vanj district, GBAO. Graduated from Estonia State Art Institute in Tallinn in 1970. Member of the Union of Artists of Tajikistan. Participant of All-Union, Republican and International exhibitions. His works are exposed in museums and private collections of Tajikistan, European countries and those of Asia and America.

Murivat Beknazarov, a mature artist, has already left his mark in the history of Tajik art. He is an acknowledged colorist. For the last decade his painting style underwent profound changes. From compositions of peaceful and glimmering dim lights he has arrived at colorful and expressive geometric color spectra. Some of his works show that the artist remains attracted by themes that demand careful and sensitive coloring and subtle shades. Values, tones and intricate modulation of colorful landscapes are always fixed within a certain system, which allows the artist to achieve magnificent effects. The image of our material world is constantly present in his paintings and strong perception of life is transferred almost Cezanne-like through vibration of light flows, which creates a sense floating in the air.

Magnitude of forms, color intensity and strength of composition that are typical for his works make one recognize the hand of professional artist-monumentalist. Perhaps, therefore his works break apart the stereotypical worldview as well as the ordinary and still lifestyle.

A member of The Union of USSR Painters, A member of Tajik Union of Painters.
