Biography :
EDGAR ALANDIA C. (Bolivia 1950) after
completing his studies at the High School in Bolivia,
moved to Italy in 1969 where he began to study Composition
at the Music Conservatorium of Santa Cecilia in Rome.
After finishing his studies he received in 1977 the Diploma
in Composition and also the Diploma in Conducting.
In 1980 he got the Advanced Diploma in Composition at
the National Music Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome.
He has received International Prizes in composition contests
( V; Bucchi in Rome-1978; I. Carreno in Caracas-Venezuela
1980 and Venezia Opera Prima 1981). His chamber and orchestra
music has been performed in Europe, USA and South America
by chamber ensembles as London Sinfonietta, 2E2M-Paris,
LIM-Madrid, Grupo Encuentros-Buenos Aires and Orchestras
as RAI-Roma, BBC Ulster, La Fenice-Venezia etc.
His works are published by Ricordi-Milan, EdiPan-Rome,
BMG, Musicinco-Madrid and recorded by Fonit Cetra-Milan,
Edi Pan, BMG, Ouverture-Rome, Lim Records-Madrid and
many others in Europe and South America.
